:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from A.L.A. -- Unsure of which version? : I had a difficult time determing which version was being reviewed in many of these reviews, so I am specifically reviewing the version that is illustrated by Anna Bond. This is a great version to use with younger kids- it has larger print and illustrations on almost every page. I wish the books actual hardcover was the same illustration as the paper dust jacket because I prefer that one.. but I'm afraid if I leave it on it'll get ripped. - 3.0 out of 5 stars from neverwithoutespresso -- Disappointed : I was very disappointed with the illustrations. On the Amazon posting the colors were rich and vibrant. In person, they are flat, and some of them are even muddy. What also robs the illustrations of their brightness is the paper the book is printed on. For some reason, I was expecting glossy paper. The paper was matte, which only made the colors more drab. Last but not least, Amazon shows the book front cover with a black background, making the already bright illustrations even more so. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Stetson and Megan Jenkins -- Beautifully Illustrated by a Talented Arist : I cannot say enough great things about this book. I went to college with the illustrator and she is insanely talented. Her style has been copied by so many artists today, but she is truly an original and has done a fantastic job with this book. Anna's hand-painted scenes can be seen on nearly every page, including some beautiful two-page spreads. The book's jacket is nicely done and the actual hard cover is just as gorgeous. I like the size font of this book as it can be read by a child or an adult. The book is not overly huge, but is certainly a collectible. Shoot, I'd buy an extra copy of it just so I could cut out some of the artwork -- it's that well done. Great work, Anna. You deserve all the success in the world. The paper quality is very thick and great. The fonts are big and it comforts your eyes. The cover book is gold. I highly recommend this unique book for every Alice Lovers.
